The 2013-14 season was a season of figuring things out for the Sacramento Kings as Michael Malone entered his first season as an NBA head coach. The team had struggles throughout the way, as they wound up finishing last season with a 28-54 record. Off the court, Vivek Ranadive's first year as Kings owner was a good one, as he and the City of Sacramento were hard at work finalizing plans for a new downtown arena, and despite the struggles this past season, Ranadive and his group are well determined to make this season a solid one for the franchise, which will celebrate its 30th year in Sacramento this season.
One good part: overhauling the roster, with the additions of Darren Collison, Ramon Sessions, and Ryan Hollins, not to mention rookie Nik Stauskas from Michigan, and the return of fan favorites DeMarcus Cousins and Omri Casspi, the Kings are ready to make a huge statement that they want to get back to a playoff-level team like the great teams of the early 2000's and to make the people of Sacramento get excited about their hometown basketball team again this season.
