30 Teams in 30 Days: Denver Nuggets

Now our "30 Teams in 30 Days" series takes us up to the "Mile High City" of Denver, where we'll preview a Nuggets team that struggled to find a way to win, and their expectations for the 2014-15 season as they look to turn things around.

Last season's record: 36-46(4th in Northwest Division, 11th in Western Conference; Did not make playoffs)

Head Coach: Brian Shaw(2nd season, 36-46 with DEN)

Arena: Pepsi Center(19,155)

Website: Nuggets.com

The 2013-14 season for the Denver Nuggets was all summed up in one word: Dismal.  Denver was starting to adjust to life without George Karl on the bench as Brian Shaw would come in and take over as the coach of a young Nuggets team, and in his first full season, his team did show signs of improvement, but in the end, the team finished with a dismal 36-46 mark, missing out on the playoffs, and sending them into an off-season filled with answers they have to ask themselves.

But there was one bright spot out of Denver's down season, and that was Ty Lawson, who averaged 17.6 points per game, while Kenneth Faried was another bright spot for the Nuggets, averaging only 13.7 points per game.

These two players are the key to what this year's Nuggets squad need, strong shooting and good play each night.  Denver did struggle a lot last season, but they know that they can turn things around and to ensure themselves a solid 2014-15 season.
